Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- Veterans Medical Disability Examinations / NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED.

Job Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with SXR Health you will perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA’s disability benefits process.

In performing Disability Assessments, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and perform a focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran. You will electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant DOES NOT make disability determinations. The United States Veterans Administration makes all disability determinations.

Requirements

  • Active NP/PA license
  • Board Certification (AANP/ANCC for NPs and NCCPA for PAs)
  • U.S.-based NP/PA program graduate
  • Skilled in time management – able to submit detailed reports in 48 hours

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the Practitioner may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time while conducting disability examinations and completing documentation. The role requires frequent use of hands and fingers to perform physical assessments, operate basic examination tools, and enter information into electronic systems. The Practitioner must be able to observe, assess, and document functional abilities, which may include bending, reaching, kneeling, or changing positions to complete examinations.

Occasional assistance with patient positioning or mobility may be required; however, no treatment or therapeutic interventions are performed as part of this role. The position requires the ability to view and interact with computer monitors and electronic medical records for extended periods. Visual acuity, hearing, and verbal communication skills are necessary to accurately assess examinees, follow standardized examination protocols, and document findings clearly and accurately.
