Responsibilities
- Perform detailed patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs monitoring to gather essential health data.
- Assist physicians in diagnostic evaluation, interpretation of medical imaging, and laboratory results such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation.
- Administer injections, medications, and treatments related to endocrinology.
- Conduct triage in emergency room or urgent care settings, ensuring timely patient evaluation and appropriate disposition planning.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems eClinicalWorks for data collection, medical records management, and documentation of clinical encounters.
- Support clinical research initiatives by participating in clinical trials, data collection, infection control practices, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, discharge planning, and post-acute care strategies.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining high standards of patient assessment and medical terminology accuracy.
Experience
- Proven experience working in endocrinology or outpatient clinics with a focus on primary care or specialty areas such as endocrinology.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems like eClinicals; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding is essential for accurate billing and documentation.
- Hands-on experience with procedures such as phlebotomy or radiation therapy support is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, infectious disease care protocols, and acute care practices including tube feeding and gastric lavage.
- Experience in clinical research settings involving data management, clinical trials participation, or public health initiatives is highly valued.
- Ability to perform physical examinations effectively while adhering to aseptic technique standards; competency in basic life support (BLS) is required.
- Excellent communication skills for patient assessment discussions and interdisciplinary collaboration within outpatient clinics. Pay: $84,462.92 – $117,632.77 per year
