Ohio State University Physicians (OSUP) is excited to be hiring Medical Assistants for our brand‑new location in Powell, Ohio and this is your chance to be part of it from the very beginning.

Our Powell location is our top placement priority, but through our Centralized Hiring Program, you may also be considered for full‑time Medical Assistant opportunities across many of our Central Ohio practices if Powell is not the final placement.

Applying to this position places you into our Centralized Hiring Program, where you’ll be considered for full‑time Medical Assistant roles across OSUP locations, including but not limited to: Worthington, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Campus Area, Gahanna, Pataskala, Westerville, New Albany, Grove City, Dublin—and our new Powell site.
Availability Requirement:

Candidates must have open availability Monday–Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week.

About the Opportunity

Through our Centralized Hiring Program, you’ll participate in a four‑week immersive training experience, rotating through multiple clinics and/or specialty areas. This approach allows you to:
  • Gain exposure to different practices and teams
  • Discover where your skills and interests align best
  • Provide ongoing feedback to your manager throughout training
At the end of the training period, you’ll work collaboratively with leadership to identify your permanent clinic home, with priority consideration given to our Powell location based on operational needs and your preferences.

Responsibilities:

Purpose:
The Medical Assistant roles assist with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
  • Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
  • Complete patient interview and history.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
  • May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
  • Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:
  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
  • Military Medic training OR
  • EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Preferences:
  • Medical Assistant Certification

At OSU Physicians, Inc., we recognize the value of acquiring a certification in medical assisting. Therefore, our Certified MAs receive additional compensation for getting and maintaining this certificate!

Pay Range: USD $17.84 – USD $28.75 /Hr.
