Job OverviewJoin our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care. In this vital role, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental services, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic operation. You will be responsible for chairside assisting, managing medical and dental records, and maintaining strict infection control standards. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, including X-ray equipment and 3D scanners, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control protocols
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and adherence to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records management
  • Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, verifying vital signs, updating medical history, and explaining procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology
  • Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment details accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Assist with medical imaging procedures and recordkeeping using EMR systems like Epic for comprehensive medical documentation
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, processing medical coding for insurance claims, and maintaining organized medical records

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with pediatric patients or general dentistry practices
  • Familiarity with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and handling dental instruments
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe clinical practice
  • Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and digital imaging tools
  • Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills suitable for working alongside dentists, hygienists, patients, and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment
