Full Job Description

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires proficiency in various dental practices, including chairside assisting, knowledge of dental terminology, and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. The Orthodontic Assistant will work closely with orthodontists to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining a positive patient experience.

Duties

  • Assist orthodontists during procedures by preparing instruments and materials for treatment.
  • Perform chairside assisting tasks, including taking impressions and utilizing 3D scanners.
  • Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Conduct X-rays and other medical imaging as required, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
  • Monitor vital signs and provide necessary support to patients throughout their visits.
  • Maintain an aseptic technique and adhere to infection control standards within the clinic.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology, procedures, and advancements in orthodontics.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, particularly in orthodontics or pediatric dentistry.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical/dental documentation, coding, and record management is beneficial.
  • Understanding of orthodontic practices, and anatomy is important.
  • Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 – $25.00 per hour
