Job OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Advanced Wound Care! In this vital role, you will deliver expert wound management and advanced patient care, utilizing your extensive clinical skills to promote healing and improve quality of life. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans, perform comprehensive assessments, and utilize cutting-edge techniques to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including physical examinations, vital signs, and detailed wound assessments to determine appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Manage complex wound care cases using advanced techniques such as debridement, dressing selection, and skin grafting when necessary.
  • Administer specialized treatments including botulinum toxin therapy for certain conditions and perform procedures like suturing and catheterization with precision.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans, discharge planning, and follow-up assessments.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Educate patients and their families on wound care management, infection prevention, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to promote healing.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing wound care protocols and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current licensure in the state of practice.
  • Proven experience in advanced wound care management or related fields such as critical care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and data retrieval.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, infection control protocols, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience performing procedures such as IV infusion, phlebotomy, sterile dressing changes, suturing, and catheterization.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes and understanding of Workers’ Compensation law is a plus.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in outpatient clinics or inpatient settings such as ICU or trauma centers; telehealth experience is advantageous. Pay: $145,600.00 – $156,000.00 per year
