As the Clinical Training Coordinator / Staff Educator, you will play an essential role in shaping our community, ensuring exceptional care, and helping our team grow and succeed.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Training Coordinator/Staff Educator to oversee the training of our clinical staff and provide required continuing education for other departments. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the HR team to ensure that all employees complete the required compliance training, which includes a mix of online courses and system monitoring at Riverview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct state-required training from DSHS, focusing on specialties in mental health and dementia care.
  • Organize and conduct comprehensive training sessions in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and first aid for all staff members.
  • Train staff in assisted living and memory care, including Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) and Home Care Aides (HCA), Medtechs, and Bath Aides.
  • Coordinate training transitions and ensure completion of online training, such as those required for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
  • Provide checklists for new staff during their first week and offer follow-up training to ensure comfort on the floor.
  • Compile and maintain training files for HR and support new employee orientation (NEO).
  • Collaborate with the admin team to provide departmental training, especially for clinical staff, with mandatory meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or Higher.
  • Current and active NAC certification.
  • Five years CNA or CNA/MedTech Experience
  • Nurse Delegation Core and Diabetes Certificate of Completion.
  • DSHS Adult Education Certificate of Completion.
  • DSHS 8-Hour Mental Health Certificate of Completion.
  • DSHS 8-Hour Dementia Specialty Certificate of Completion.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Instructor Certificate.
  • Washington State Food Handlers Permit (required at the time of hire and must be maintained).
  • Proficiency in computer systems such as Relias, Point Click Care, and Hybrent, with occasional use of Care Learn WA.
  • Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or a related healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of state regulations for senior care facilities.
  • Leadership experience with a natural ability to mentor, support, and inspire staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A warm, approachable presence that fosters trust and collaboration with staff, residents, and families

Preferred Skills: (not required)

  • DSHS Facility Instructor Certification
    • 100 hours teaching adults topics in basic training; or
    • 40 hours of teaching basic training while being mentored by an instructor who is approved to teach basic training; or40 hours of informal teaching experience on topics other than basic training, and understands adult learning techniques, and ways to measure and improve their teaching skill AND experience or training in assessment and competency testing
  • Home Care Aide instructor and Proctor Certificate.
