Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including mental status examinations and medical histories to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment strategies.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems PracticeQ to document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently.
• Support clinical initiatives by collecting data, maintaining records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and participating in clinical trials related to mental health interventions.
• Provide patient education on medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and mental health management techniques such as health coaching and pain management strategies.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Physician Assistant with valid licensure to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Proven experience working in outpatient clinics specializing in psychiatry or behavioral health.
• Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications, CPT coding for billing purposes, ICD-10 coding standards, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
• Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to mental health care.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
