Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant with a positive attitude and thirst for learning to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures that include laser surgery, cosmetic veneers and crowns, cerec crowns, Invisalign, etc. This position requires proficiency in dental assisting techniques and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and preparing treatment areas.
- Record vital signs and patient information accurately in the dental software system.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient records using Open Dental ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Comfort with alginate impression and digital impression scanning.
- Lab case management.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with familiarity in general, periodontal, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and infection control practices being advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical coding is a plus.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic dental assisting tasks is essential.
- Experience with X-Ray technology is required.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are crucial for success in this role.
