Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, and urgent care centers. Your expertise will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative duties that ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality service. Duties

  • Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting vital signs using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a professional, caring demeanor.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, taking X-rays, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Support physicians during examinations and treatments by providing necessary supplies and ensuring sterile environments.
  • Monitor patient physiology and vital signs regularly to detect changes that require immediate attention or further assessment.
  • Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper billing and record-keeping.
  • Support hospital medicine units, emergency departments (including Level I and Level II trauma centers), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or surgical suites such as ORs with appropriate clinical assistance.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications and adhere to protocols for emergency medicine situations.
  • Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and facilitating efficient clinic operations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in geriatrics, medical-surgical units, internal medicine clinics, or specialized areas like dermatology or internal medicine.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
  • Proven experience working in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, or similar healthcare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
  • Experience supporting inpatient units such as ICU or Geriatrics wards is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records.
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures including X-ray support and basic life support (BLS).
  • Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings such as emergency departments or Level I Trauma Centers.
  • Knowledge of hospital experience requirements across various specialties including internal medicine or medical-surgical units is preferred.
