OverviewWe are seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our psychiatric practice and support our Clinicians. The CMA will assist with both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient care and a positive patient experience. We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a calm, patient-centered setting and is committed to supporting mental health care.
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (no weekends or holidays)
- Salary: $15-$25 [Based on experience]
- Work Location: On-site (In-office only)
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical records
- Assist clinicians with patient flow and documentation
- Oversee TMS and Spravato treatments as directed
- Handle prior authorizations and prescription refills
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office policies
Required Skills
- Current CMA certification (required)
- Previous experience in a medical or psychiatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency with EHR systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, patience, and empathy
- Comfortable working in a mental health environment and handling confidential information
Preferred Experience
- Experience in behavioral or mental health
- Familiarity with psychiatric medications
- Insurance verification and prior authorization experience
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Practice Fusion, SimplePractice, Kareo, or similar
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
