Job OverviewThe Primary Care Nurse Practitioner – Integrative Psychiatry plays a key role in delivering holistic, patient-centered care by bridging the gap between mental and physical health. This provider will deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients receiving psychiatric treatment, with a focus on identifying, managing, and coordinating care for co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions.
This role supports an integrative care model that recognizes the complex interplay between psychiatric conditions and chronic medical issues, improving overall patient outcomes through collaboration, prevention, and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive primary care services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Conduct routine physical exams, health screenings, and preventative care services
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests and diagnostic studies
- Manage common chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, obesity) with consideration of psychiatric comorbidities
- Provide basic pediatric and gynecologic care, including routine screenings, patient education, and identification of concerns requiring referral
- Evaluate and address medication interactions between psychiatric and medical treatments
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical support staff to develop and implement integrated care plans
- Support patients with co-occurring medical and mental health conditions · Provide education on the connection between physical health and mental well-being
- Participate in case consultations and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Coordinate referrals to specialists, diagnostic services, and community resources as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Adhere to all clinical, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable healthcare regulations
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Nevada
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNP) · DEA license and prescriptive authority required
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in primary care or family medicine preferred
- Experience working with patients with behavioral health conditions strongly preferred
- Experience in integrated or collaborative care models is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills across a broad range of medical conditions
- Understanding of the interaction between psychiatric and medical conditions
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Pay: $110,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
