The APP will work closely with our board-certified allergist(s) and pediatric providers to deliver comprehensive outpatient care across allergy, immunology, and general pediatrics. This role combines diagnostic evaluation, patient education, and ongoing disease management in a fast-paced and rewarding clinical setting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluate and manage patients with allergic rhinitis, asthma, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, anaphylaxis, and primary immunodeficiency disorders
- Perform and interpret allergy skin testing (percutaneous and intradermal), pulmonary function testing, and other in-office diagnostic procedures
- Initiate, monitor, and adjust allergen immunotherapy protocols under physician supervision
- Conduct well-child visits, sick visits, and follow-up appointments for the pediatric panel
- Order and interpret relevant laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic testing
- Prescribe and manage medications including biologics in alignment with practice protocols
- Develop individualized care plans and provide thorough patient and family education on allergy management, action plans, and avoidance strategies
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and care coordinators to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice meetings
- Document clinical findings accurately using ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security.
Qualifications
- Valid certification or eligibility as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with state licensure; experience in Pediatrics and/or Allergy & Immunology or Pulmonology is preferred.
- DEA registration or eligibility, BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication skills with patients of all ages, particularly children and adolescents
- Strong clinical reasoning and commitment to evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Office Practicum, AllScripts, Athena or Epic.
- Experience with CPT coding for procedures; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is essential for accurate documentation.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish a plus)
Pay: $84,116.91 – $101,302.09 per year
