Physician Assistant (PA)Medical Group – Interventional Pain and Spine/Ortho Surgery Clinic

East Bay, California (Multiple Clinic Locations)Full-Time | Outpatient | In-Person & Telemedicine Visits

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Medical Group. This role involves a combination of in-person clinical care and telemedicine visits, working closely with physicians to evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in pain management, spine surgery, orthopedic surgery, and/or physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R). Providers with procedural experience in musculoskeletal or pain-related injections are strongly preferred. Experience with spine surgery pre and post-op care is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care
  • Conduct comprehensive pain evaluations and follow-up visits for patients with sub-acute and chronic pain conditions in the outpatient setting
  • Perform both in-person and telemedicine visits
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies including MRI, CT, X-ray, and EMG/NCS when appropriate
  • Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and pain management strategies
  • Collaborate closely with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary care teams

Procedural Responsibilities

  • Perform in-office procedures including:
  • Trigger Point Injections
  • Joint Injections (e.g., shoulder, knee, hip, elbow)
  • Occipital Nerve Blocks
  • Other musculoskeletal injections as indicated

These procedures are commonly performed in pain management settings to treat musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain conditions.

Providers with experience performing these procedures independently are highly preferred.

Care Coordination

  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, orthopedic surgeons, neuro/spine surgeons
  • Assist with procedure preparation, documentation, and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient care initiatives

QualificationsRequired

  • Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of California
  • Current DEA license
  • Ability to work under physician supervision as required
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Strong procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Preferred

  • Experience in pain management, neuro/ortho spine surgery, orthopedics, sports medicine, or PM&R

Experience performing:

  • Trigger point injections
  • Joint injections (shoulder, knee)
  • Occipital nerve blocks
  • Experience with chronic pain management and musculoskeletal disorders

Work Environment

  • Outpatient interventional pain management clinic
  • Combination of in-person and telemedicine visits
  • Collaborative team including pain management physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Focus on evidence-based pain care and minimally invasive procedures
