OverviewEntry level position for a busy Oral Surgery practice. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate must process a background in dental assisting, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role requires proficiency in various dental software systems, take proper periapical, panoramic x-rays including CT scans. Have experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, OMS Vison, Eagle soft as well as a solid understanding of dental terminology and procedures. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care while ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic with opportunity for advancement
Duties
- Assist the dentist and surgical assistants during and after the oral procedures with recovery of our patients.
- Prepare and maintain the recovery and sterilization areas clean and organized ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) Panoramic and 3-D Ct -Scans while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage patient recovery records, including medical documentation and surgical procedure records, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Perform vital signs checks and assist with medical imaging when necessary post-operatively.
- Support the dental surgical team with maintaining proper patient flow and assist in scheduling patient’s post-op follow-up visits, post-op calls, call in prescriptions as needed.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge with oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics and other relevant areas of dentistry.
- Daily filing and scanning.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dental clinic or dental office setting is a must
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as OMS Vision, Dentrix and Eagle soft is essential
- Knowledge of adult and pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable
- Proficiency in chairside assisting techniques and aseptic techniques is required
- Understanding of dental and medical terminology, and infection control practices is required (OSHA)
- Experience with vital signs monitoring and general dentistry procedures

Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
