Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team in providing comprehensive patient care across various medical settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, including hospital and emergency medicine, and be proficient in a wide range of medical procedures and documentation systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced skills such as Epic EMR systems, telehealth, and acute care management to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The Physician Assistant will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history documentation.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, lab results, and other data collection methods.
  • Administer injections, medications, and treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy, dermal fillers, or dermabrasion procedures.
  • Manage acute pain cases, airway management, ventilator support, and emergency interventions within Level I and Level II trauma centers.
  • Assist in surgical procedures including suturing, catheterization (cardiac or spinal tap), and other operative tasks in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Document clinical findings accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in clinical research trials and contribute to data management for quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, discharge planning, and post-acute care.
  • Support specialized areas such as infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, neonatal ICU (NICU), PICU, or senior care depending on assignment.
  • Engage in triage duties in urgent care or emergency room environments to prioritize patient needs efficiently.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital standards including NCQA standards and infection control protocols.

Requirements

  • Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification.
  • Proven experience working in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU or trauma centers (Level I & II trauma center experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience with advanced procedures including airway management, ventilator support (neonatal ventilator), cardiac catheterization, dialysis access management (DME), phlebotomy, radiation therapy support or laser treatments is desirable.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic assessments across diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and post-operative patients.
  • Critical care experience including ICU or trauma center work is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques necessary for safe practice environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening prior to employment.
