Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Pathology Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic pathology team. This role is responsible for supporting surgical and anatomic pathology services through gross examination, frozen section preparation, autopsy assistance, and comprehensive specimen management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic support in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Duties
- Assist pathologists with accessioning, dissection, evisceration, autopsies, and histologic sampling of a wide range of anatomical specimens
- Perform frozen sections and intra-operative consultations in accordance with established protocols
- Coordinate acquisition of tissue specimens for diagnostic purposes
- Maintain accurate digital records and high-quality specimen photography
- Support specimen accessioning, labeling, storage, and disposal processes
- Maintain laboratory reagents, equipment, and overall workspace organization
- Review, interpret, and present findings as appropriate
- Supervise, train, and mentor clinical staff and/or students
- Ensure efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to support operational and business objectives
- Comply with departmental policies, safety regulations, infection control, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Physician Assistant (PA) with pathology and grossing experience required
