Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant – Certified to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care across various medical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and specialty clinics. This role involves performing physical examinations, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Physician Assistant will utilize advanced clinical skills and EMR systems to deliver high-quality care in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical standards. Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or specialized fields such as trauma, pediatrics, or geriatrics is highly valued. The position offers opportunities for involvement in clinical research, telehealth services, and post-acute care management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and history taking.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory data collection, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as ECGs and radiographs.
  • Administer injections, medications (including botulinum toxin treatments), and perform procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques.
  • Manage acute pain and airway issues; operate ventilators; assist with cardiac catheterization and catheterization procedures.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care across diverse settings including ICU, emergency room, hospital medicine, hospice & palliative medicine, and outpatient clinics.
  • Document patient encounters accurately within EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist in discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, and follow-up care management.
  • Participate in clinical research trials or public health initiatives; contribute to data collection and management efforts.
  • Support specialized treatments like dermal fillers or esthetic laser procedures when applicable.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care including nutrition counseling, addiction counseling, or family planning services.

Skills

  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience with complex procedures including spinal taps, PICU or Neonatal ventilator management, dialysis access management, or radiation therapy is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations accurately; skilled in medication administration and injection techniques.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding for billing purposes; understanding of hospital standards such as NCQA standards.
  • Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure preferred.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills; capable of triage in urgent care or emergency settings.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols; adept at maintaining aseptic technique during procedures.
  • Effective communication skills for teaching hospital environments or clinical trials participation; experience in health coaching or public health initiatives is a plus. Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
