Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Physician Assistant (PA) with DOT (Department of Transportation) certification to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care, emergency departments, and inpatient hospital units. Your expertise in acute and chronic care management, combined with your proficiency in EMR systems and medical procedures, will ensure our patients receive top-tier treatment. Duties

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine appropriate care plans.
  • Administer injections, manage airway interventions, and conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing advanced clinical techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians and specialists on complex cases involving trauma, infectious diseases, pain management, and critical care scenarios.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medication administration, and data collection.
  • Participate in clinical research and clinical trials to advance medical knowledge and improve treatment protocols.
  • Conduct triage assessments in urgent care or emergency settings to prioritize patient needs effectively.
  • Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, and ventilator management within hospital environments.
  • Support discharge planning and post-acute care coordination for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator management, and hospice & palliative medicine.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure aseptic techniques during all patient interactions.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by collecting data on patient outcomes and participating in infection control practices.

Skills

  • Proven experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for efficient data management.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards for billing and documentation purposes.
  • Skilled in performing physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, medication administration, and basic life support procedures.
  • Experience administering injections and managing acute pain or ventilator support in hospital or ICU settings.
  • Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure; familiarity with ventilator management and airway techniques is highly valued.
  • Ability to handle complex cases involving infectious disease care, occupational health issues, or emergency medicine scenarios such as trauma or urgent care situations.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills coupled with strong communication abilities for health coaching and education.
  • Knowledge of hospital protocols including discharge planning, radiation therapy support roles (if applicable), and medical imaging interpretation.
  • Competence in data collection for research purposes and familiarity with ICD coding standards for accurate documentation.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment in teaching hospitals or outpatient clinics; familiarity with post-acute care settings is a plus.
