Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant – Certified to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care across various medical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and specialty clinics. This role involves performing physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Physician Assistant will utilize advanced clinical skills and medical knowledge to support patient health outcomes, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical standards .
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history intake, and physical examinations
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks
- Administer injections, medications, and treatments including
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Support clinical research initiatives and clinical trials
- Provide patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, healthy life style
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Level I/II trauma centers or ICU settings for critical care management including ventilator support and airway management
- Assist with data collection for quality improvement projects adhering to NCQA standards
- Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks
- Skilled in performing physical exams, diagnostic evaluation, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical terminology
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to acute care and chronic disease management
- Ability to administer injections safely and perform procedures like phlebotomy
- Experience with telehealth platforms a plus
- Competence in patient assessment during outpatient visits
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment
- Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Competency with computer and electronic health record systems
- Ability to develop and evaluate outcomes-based treatment plans
- Counseling skills for patients and families
- Ability to interpret diagnostic and lab results
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
