Busy orthopedic spine practice looking for a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) for our office. Travel maybe required to our Satellite offices in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire area. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Demonstrates a detailed knowledge of medical and surgical practice management; able to independently problem solve and perform duties and responsibilities. Schedule patient appointments; Makes sure that the doctor is available for scheduled appointments by cross-checking with scheduled operations and meetings. Coordinate with others to eliminate scheduling conflicts;
- Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.
- Diagnosis of ailment or injury
- Treatment planning for ailments or injuries
- Coordinates patient care including ordering of laboratory tests and radiographic studies
- Teaches and promotes health maintenance
- Prescribes medications according to established protocols
- Refers patients to appropriate licensed physicians
- Documents care in patient medical records
- Consults with other staff as needed
- Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.
- Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues.
- Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
- Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance), JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, INC.) and state regulatory standards.
- Facilitates evaluation of records by physician(s), peers, and Quality and Standards according to protocols, and receives and implements constructive directives.
- Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or “hands-on training” and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.
- Ability to function in the OR as an assistant as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS.
Educational requirements and/or preferences(Licensure, Registration, Certification, Experience, Other):
- Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid CA, unrestricted Physician Assistant License/Nurse Practitioner
- Valid DEA
- Windows based PC experience.
- Appropriate interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians, and other customers of the Medical Center.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
- Self-directed with pro-active approach with all patients
- Efficient, reliable, flexible, goal orientated and adaptable to change; while maintaining high productivity level
- Valid California drivers’ license and proof of liability insurance.
- Valid BSL
Reliable transportation- required to travel to various practice locations and hospitals
