Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Family Medicine Clinic

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our patient-centered family medicine clinic team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan—from newborns to seniors—collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, whole-person care. Your expertise will help ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality preventative and chronic disease management in a supportive outpatient environment. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute minor illnesses and injuries, as well as manage patients with chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluation by ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer medications and injections, including routine immunizations and other therapeutic agents, following aseptic techniques.
  • Perform minor office procedures such as suturing lacerations, wound care, and joint injections within the scope of practice.
  • Engage in preventative care and provide patient education to promote optimal health outcomes, including counseling on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare providers, facilitating referrals and ensuring continuity of care across various settings (outpatient, post-acute, home care, etc.).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical discussions to advance evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education & Certification:
  • Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited NP program, current RN and APRN licensure in the State of Idaho, and national certification (e.g., FNP-C, ANCC).
  • Physician Assistant: Master’s degree from an accredited PA program and current, unrestricted PA licensure in the State of Idaho. Board certification (PA-C) required.
  • Experience: Proven medical office experience, preferably in a family medicine, internal medicine, or urgent care setting. Experience working independently in a primary care environment is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD (ICD-9 & ICD-10) and CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to perform basic procedures like injections and physical examinations with attention to detail.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish trusting relationships with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and collaborate with other professionals.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 – $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
