Job OverviewWe are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver compassionate mental health care, conduct patient assessments, and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes. Your expertise will help us expand our mental health services while ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
Duties
- Perform psychiatric evaluations, including patient assessment, vital signs, and mental status examinations using medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication administration, injections, and therapy options such as botulinum toxin treatment when appropriate.
- Manage acute psychiatric conditions, triage urgent cases, and coordinate care for inpatient and outpatient populations across hospital settings.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical records management, data collection, and documentation of clinical research or trials.
- Conduct physical examinations related to mental health assessments and perform diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, hospice & palliative medicine cases, and post-acute care transitions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing patient data securely and administering injections or treatments in aseptic techniques.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Physician Assistant with current licensure in the state of practice.
- Demonstrated experience in psychiatric or mental health settings, including hospital experience or emergency room exposure.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of clinical research protocols, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and diagnostic evaluation procedures.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and vital signs assessment efficiently.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $100,000.00 – $113,849.31 per year
