Job OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as a Physician Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care across diverse medical settings. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history intake to determine health status and needs.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluation through ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures utilizing EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Assist in both inpatient and outpatient surgeries at multiple hospital locations as well as an ambulatory surgery center.
- Coordinate discharge planning, hospice & palliative medicine services, or post-acute care including home health or nursing home environments.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records using EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner while ensuring compliance with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for data management and patient records.
- Experience scrubbing in on surgeries and assisting, performing suturing, and utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of CPT coding for procedures and ICD coding for diagnoses; familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing standards is a plus.
- Ability to perform triage assessments efficiently in urgent care or emergency room environments; experience with infectious disease care and hospital medicine is advantageous.
- Skilled in patient care activities such as physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, health coaching, pain management strategies (including botulinum toxin treatment), and medication administration.
