OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant – Emergency Medicine for our client in Michigan!
Responsibilities
- Provide independent evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of emergency department patients.
- Manage an average daily volume of approximately 20 patients per shift.
- Collaborate with the on-site supervising physician for consultation as needed.
- Respond to house codes and participate in emergency care when required.
- Coordinate admissions with hospitalists or ED physicians.
- Initiate appropriate referrals and transfers per established protocols.
- Document all encounters accurately in Cerner EMR.
Qualifications
- Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Active MI state license at time of name clear.
- Active DEA registration.
- ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Local provider only.
- Clean background for expedited credentialing.
- Extensive emergency department experience.
- Ability to commit to listed coverage dates and shifts.
Schedule
- Coverage dates: January 17 through April 9, 2026.
- Shift hours: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
- 10-hour autonomous midlevel shift.
- On-site supervising physician available during all shifts.

- Strong independent clinical decision-making.
- Efficient patient triage and management.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Proficiency in emergency procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, moderate-volume emergency department.
All travel expenses are reimbursed by our client and Orchard covers malpractice insurance with tail coverage!
