Full Job Description
- Examine patients, obtain histories, document findings, and make preliminary diagnoses
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (x-rays, EKGs, lab work)
- Prescribe medications per state regulations and clinic policies
- Educate patients on health maintenance, nutrition, and wellness
Procedural & Therapeutic Support
- Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections, wound care, suturing, and immunizations
- Assist with emergency treatments and complex or invasive procedures within scope and privileges
Care Planning, Collaboration & Compliance
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with physicians
- Counsel patients, monitor progress, and maintain thorough clinical documentation
- Exercise sound clinical judgment, consult physicians as needed, and follow CPC’s clinical, ethical, and documentation standards
- Participate in data collection, research, and institutional reporting

Qualifications
- Completion of a four-year PA program with one year of clinical training OR
- Completion of a two-year accredited PA program with two years of clinical training OR
- Equivalent Nurse Practitioner education and training
- Accreditation by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants (required)
- Current unrestricted state license (SD or NE) required
- BCLS certification required
- DEA license without restrictions required
- Ongoing continuing education (100 hours every two years) and board recertification required
- ACLS certification preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to care for patients across all age groups
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs, push up to 300 lbs, maintain corrected 20/20 vision, and perform prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and manual tasks
