Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with prior experience in chronic pain management / interventional pain/spine to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with chronic pain conditions. The practice specializes in diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pain management with emphasis in neuromodulation and specifically spinal cord stimulation/dorsal root ganglion neurostimulation/peripheral nerve stimulation and other advanced pain management interventions.

Duties

  • NP/PA performs advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with chronic pain. This role includes expertise in interventional pain management procedures and integrates medication management, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct thorough physical exams and collect detailed pain histories
  • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, lab tests, and pain scales.
  • Design and implement multimodal pain management plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies.
  • Tailor therapy for chronic conditions such as failed back surgery syndrome, neuropathies, CRPS, and others
  • Manage acute and chronic pain conditions across multiple specialties.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as medical imaging to inform clinical decisions.
  • Provide interventional procedure support. Diagnose and schedule interventional procedures such as Epidural steroid injections, facet blocks, medial branch blocks, RFA’s, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Peripheral Nerve stimulation, DRG stim, Intrathecal pumps, etc.
  • Document patient encounters accurately using EMR/EHR systems ( eCW ) while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage in clinical research activities related to pain management innovations and evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure infection control protocols are followed during all procedures including sterile processing and aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain current knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
  • Engagement in CME/CE specific to pain Medicine.

Requirements

  • Valid NP or PA license; must meet state licensing requirements.
  • DEA licence
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and proficiency in accurate and timely medical documentation is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Manage multimodal pharmacotherapy including NSAIDs, anticonvulsants, muscle relaxants, and opioids.
  • Oversee controlled substances with regulatory compliance, PDMP/CURES checks, and urine drug screens.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, complications, and contribute to quality improvement processes.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation including informed consents, procedure notes, diagnostic interpretations, and progress reports.
  • Being able to efficiently manage a time-released patient schedule and see approximately 25 or more patients per day, ensuring accurate documentation and treatment initiation, maintaining smooth clinic flow, and promptly communicating any issues, treatment plans, or concerns with the supervising physician.
  • The midlevel provider is expected to consistently arrive at least 15 minutes before the first scheduled patient and maintain perfect attendance with no tardiness.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their treatment options. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $69,527.51 – $83,732.05 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
