Full Job Description

Site: The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Inc.

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.

The Kraft Family Blood Donor Center’s physician assistant (PA) is a key member of a multidisciplinary team that supports apheresis procedures used to collect blood and cellular products (e.g., hematopoietic stem cells [HPCs], mononuclear cells [MNCs]) and to oversee therapeutic apheresis (e.g., red blood cell exchange, therapeutic plasma exchange) in both clinical and research settings. While apheresis procedures are performed by apheresis nurses, PAs provide essential medical oversight, support, and management throughout the full course of care for patients and donors. At our center, apheresis is performed both for conventional clinical indications (e.g., commercial CAR-T and gene therapy) and as part of research studies (e.g. research gene and cell therapy cellular collections). The PA in the Apheresis Core Facility will work a 20-hour work week: 10 hours per day, 2 days per week. Work occurs primarily in an outpatient clinical setting with an adult patient population requiring apheresis and/or blood collection.
