Full Job Description
We have a completely private, fee-for-service (no insurance, medicare, or medicaid) Psychiatry practice in Ridgefield, Connecticut. We use Simple Practice only for scheduling, Veradigm for ePrescribing, and old-fashioned pen and paper for notes.
We’re seeking a responsible and very reliable PA to see patients for follow-up visits. Our patients attend their appointments either in-person, by phone, or via Zoom depending upon each patient’s preference and candidate availability. The ideal candidate would have a flexible schedule and be available to work at least1-2 evenings per week until 7:30pm as well as 2-3 Saturdays per month. Start time for the evenings can be flexible and can be worked remotely. Saturdays would be approx 9am-3pm, preferably in-person. Pay is $100 per hour for direct patient care and $80 per hour for administrative. All patient care is overseen by the doctor. Experience in Psychiatry is not needed. More important for our practice is finding someone with a solid work ethic, compassion, and understanding.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ health and their demands and aim to fulfill them as well as possible.
- Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine
- Inform physician about any problems or discrepancies that might arise
- Acquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditions
- Monitor patients’ progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events
- Attend to emergencies (which are quite rare)
- Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients
- Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards
- Collaborate effectively with team members of various specializations
