Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a part-time (0.80 FTE; full benefits) Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team, supporting our TBI outpatient program. In this role, it is necessary to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive care to patients with Traumatic Brain Injury
- Write prescriptions and make appropriate referrals
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and external agencies to ensure coorrdinated, high-quality care
- Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patients’ medical, functional and psychosocial status
- Formulate differential diagnosis based on history, physical examination and diagnostic testing
- Identify needs of the individual, family or community, and develop individualized plans of care and education
About the Department:
- Our TBI Outpatient Program became the first organization in the world to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as a Concussion Specialty Program for Adolescents & Adults.
- Our Knapp Rehabilitation Center, which partners with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, is an inpatient specialty program serving adolescent and adult patients various conditions that includes but not limited to traumatic brain injury, non-traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple trauma, spinal cord injury, burn, amputation, other neurological conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications:
- Current (or eligibility for) license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
- TBI-related patient care experience
- Prior experience as an APP
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting
- Function as both individual performer and team player
SALARY
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pay is based on years since licensure and specialty area. The grid below represents current pay rates for this position. Note: salaries will increase in April, 2026 and the new rate will be applied for this position.
