The Opportunity
We are seeking a confident, experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing urgent care team serving the expanding communities of Elgin and Del Valle. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries with appropriate physician consultation per Texas law and clinic protocols.
- Perform focused and comprehensive physical exams; interpret diagnostics (X-ray, EKG, labs).
- Comfortable caring for pediatric patients.
- Perform urgent care procedures including
- suturing/laceration repair
- splinting and initial fracture management
- I&D
- foreign body removal, and wound care.
- Document efficiently in the EMR.
- Maintain high standards of patient experience and clinical safety.
Schedule
- Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, 7 days/week
- 12-hour shifts
- Full-time typically 12-14 shifts/month
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- Primary site assignment in Elgin or Del Valle with occasional coverage at the other site
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Texas NP or PA license
- National certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA)
- 2–3+ years recent urgent care or emergency medicine experience (new graduates not eligible for this role)
- Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, I&D)
- Eligible for DEA registration and Texas prescriptive authority
- BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred
