Position Overview
Tesoro Life is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) to provide direct patient care on a contract basis approximately 12 hours per week.
The provider will see scheduled patients only and conduct comprehensive evaluations for clients seeking weight loss management, health optimization, hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), and sexual health services. This role is ideal for a clinician who is confident practicing independently within their scope and enjoys working with a proactive, wellness-focused patient population.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and focused physical exams
- Weight loss and metabolic optimization
- Male and female hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)
- Sexual health optimization
- Order and interpret laboratory testing relevant to metabolic health, hormones, and wellness optimization
- Review lab results with patients and discuss outcomes, goals, and treatment plans
- Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice and under applicable Colorado regulations, including:
- Male and female hormone replacement therapy when clinically indicated
- Testosterone therapy for men and women who meet clinical criteria
- Weight-management medications, including compounded GLP-1/GIP (tirzepatide) from licensed 503A compounding pharmacies
- Provide ongoing follow-up care, treatment adjustments, and patient education
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the clinic’s EMR
- Collaborate with clinic leadership and clinical staff to ensure high standards of care and patient safety
Required Qualifications
- Active Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN/NP) license in the state of Colorado
- National certification (NCCPA for PAs or applicable NP board certification)
- Current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience practicing independently in an outpatient or clinic setting
- Strong clinical experience with:
- Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for men and women
- Testosterone therapy, including appropriate patient selection, dosing, and monitoring
- Weight loss and metabolic management
- Comfortable ordering, interpreting, and counseling on advanced lab panels
- Excellent clinical judgment, documentation, and patient communication skills
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- Prior experience in functional medicine, integrative medicine, wellness clinics, or concierge practices
- Familiarity with compounded medications and collaboration with 503A compounding pharmacies
- Experience managing GLP-1/GIP-based weight-loss therapies
- Strong personal interest in health optimization, longevity, fitness, and preventive care
- Appreciation for evidence-based medicine combined with thoughtful integrative approaches
- Comfortable working with motivated, self-directed patients seeking proactive care
