Full Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of adult patients in outpatient and/or inpatient internal medicine settings
  • Perform detailed histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions under physician supervision and within scope of practice
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and durable medical equipment in accordance with state and institutional guidelines
  • Coordinate care and communicate effectively with supervising physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services
  • Deliver patient education and counseling on disease management, medication use, preventive health, and lifestyle modification
  • Document all clinical encounters in the electronic health record accurately and timely
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, care-pathway development, and departmental projects as assigned
  • Assist with transitions of care, including discharge planning and follow-up coordination

Qualifications:

  • Current Physician Assistant license (Illinois) and NCCPA certification
  • Completion of an accredited PA program
  • Experience in internal medicine or primary care preferred; new graduates considered depending on practice needs
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with supervising physicians

Pay: $80,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
