Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Urgent Care and Gastroenterology (GI) team. The PA will provide high-quality patient care, perform comprehensive evaluations, and support smooth clinical operations across both practice areas.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions commonly seen in urgent care and GI settings.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, endoscopy-related results, etc.).
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Perform in-office procedures such as wound care, suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and other urgent care procedures.
  • Assist in GI procedures as permitted (e.g., pre-procedure evaluations, post-procedure follow-up, patient education).
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Patient Education & Coordination

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, specialists, and ancillary services.
  • Provide timely and thorough documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).

Operational & Administrative Duties

  • Support patient flow and ensure efficient clinical operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, chart reviews, and compliance audits.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines and best practices in urgent care and GI.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current and active PA license in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in urgent care, gastroenterology, family medicine, or related field.
  • Certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with EMR systems.
  • Prior experience in a dual practice (Urgent Care + GI) setting is a plus.
  • Ability to perform urgent care procedures confidently.
