Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Urgent Care and Gastroenterology (GI) team. The PA will provide high-quality patient care, perform comprehensive evaluations, and support smooth clinical operations across both practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions commonly seen in urgent care and GI settings.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, endoscopy-related results, etc.).
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Perform in-office procedures such as wound care, suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and other urgent care procedures.
- Assist in GI procedures as permitted (e.g., pre-procedure evaluations, post-procedure follow-up, patient education).
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Patient Education & Coordination
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, specialists, and ancillary services.
- Provide timely and thorough documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Support patient flow and ensure efficient clinical operations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, chart reviews, and compliance audits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines and best practices in urgent care and GI.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current and active PA license in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in urgent care, gastroenterology, family medicine, or related field.
- Certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Prior experience in a dual practice (Urgent Care + GI) setting is a plus.
- Ability to perform urgent care procedures confidently.
