About Us:
East Bay Hand Medical Center is a private orthopedic surgery practice and AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center specializing in disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Our team delivers compassionate, cutting-edge care in a collaborative, efficient setting. We’re currently seeking a dedicated Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team and play a vital role in our growing practice.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly capable and motivated Physician Assistant (PA-C) with orthopedic or surgical experience to provide comprehensive care for patients with upper extremity conditions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical and surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Diagnose and treat conditions of the hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder
· Review, interpret, and explain lab results, X-rays, and MRIs to patients
· Perform injections and minor in-office procedures
· Conduct thorough EMR charting
· Serve as First Assist in outpatient surgeries in our on-site AAAHC-accredited facility
· Develop post-operative protocols and individualized patient care plans
· Provide training to front and back office staff on clinical and administrative procedures
· Conduct record reviews and participate in utilization review and peer-to-peer discussions
· Communicate with patients to answer questions and coordinate care
· Obtain medical clearance from PCPs and specialists when needed
· Oversee surgery center operations including patient flow and equipment readiness
· Manage infection control policies, and assist with AAAHC compliance and accreditation
· Conduct annual reviews, quality studies, and maintain surgical documentation
Requirements:
· Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the state of California
· Proficient with EMR systems
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
· Team-oriented, compassionate, and committed to high-quality patient care
Orthopedic or surgical experience strongly preferred
Schedule: Part-time position available 24-28 hours per week
Preferred Skills:
Experience with hand and upper-extremity conditions (preferred but not required)Comfort with injections and orthopedic procedures
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $83.00 – $84.00 per hour
