Full Job Description

The Physician Assistant at PJM Clinic provides high-quality, patient-centered healthcare across OBGYN, Internal Medicine, and Pediatric services. The PA is responsible for performing assessments, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, conducting procedures within scope of practice, educating patients and families, and collaborating with supervising physicians to ensure safe and effective clinical care.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGeneral Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical examinations, and reviewing diagnostic data.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses across lifespan populations.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging studies, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans following evidence-based standards.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Arizona licensure and DEA regulations.
  • Document all encounters, procedures, and communications in the patient electronic health record (EHR) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, treatments, preventive care, and follow-up needs.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up care as needed.

OBGYN Responsibilities

  • Perform women’s health evaluations including annual exams, Pap smears, breast exams, and prenatal assessments (as delegated).
  • Manage common gynecologic concerns such as menstrual disorders, infections, contraception, and menopausal symptoms.
  • Provide prenatal and postpartum care under physician supervision.
  • Assist with minor office gynecologic procedures within scope of practice.
  • Counsel patients on reproductive health, contraceptive options, fertility, and family planning.

Internal Medicine Responsibilities

  • Manage adult primary care patients with acute illnesses, chronic disease management, preventive screenings, and wellness care.
  • Monitor and manage chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, cardiovascular disease, thyroid disorders, and others.
  • Conduct routine physical exams, work/school physicals, and health maintenance visits.
  • Create individualized long-term care plans for adult patients.

Pediatric Responsibilities

  • Conduct well-child checks, developmental screenings, and school physicals.
  • Assess and treat common childhood illnesses such as infections, asthma, minor injuries, and behavioral concerns.
  • Administer and interpret pediatric immunization schedules.
  • Provide parent/caregiver education on growth milestones, safety, nutrition, and illness prevention.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians on complex pediatric cases.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to PJM Clinic policies and Arizona Administrative Code Article 10 clinical standards.
  • Comply with HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and risk management activities.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and follow clinic emergency preparedness procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Arizona PA license in good standing.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Current BLS Certification (ACLS recommended).
  • Valid DEA registration or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Experience in OBGYN, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics preferred (not required).

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $105,542.78 – $127,105.28 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
