We are seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Worker’s Comp Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Medical Provider)
Job Summary: The Medical Provider functions as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, he/she is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with acute or chronic medical conditions. He/she demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses or acute injuries commonly encountered in adult patient population. He/she is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
The Medical Provider demonstrates an advanced level of medical clinical knowledge, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism and systems-based practice.
He/she works with administrative, nursing, physician, and university faculty to assure safe, effective, quality patient care and to promote Sendas Urgent Care’s educational missions. The
The Medical Provider will provide care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and institutional policy and practice agreements.
The Medical Provider is eligible to begin practice after he/she is credentialed and privileged by
Sendas Urgent Care. Active urgent care privileges will be required and reviewed on a bi-annual basis to maintain employment with Sendas Urgent Care.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Obtaining and legibly recording a detailed medical history of each patient including, but not limited to, the patient’s chief complaint, his/her present condition, the patient’s individual history and his/her family history
2. Performing as indicated, complete physical examinations of each patient including, but not limited to, examination of the head, eyes, ears, nose, throat, abdomen; and all systems of the body including but not limited to, the circulatory, reproductive and nervous system
3. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing his/her injury or illness and formulating a prognosis
4. Effectively communicating with patients and other healthcare staff to manage patient care
5. Referring the patient to other physicians or appropriate resources when and if needed
6. Prescribing medication and treatment for the patient and recommending appropriate physical and dietary routines and methods for prevention of disease and maintaining personal hygiene
7. Performing all services in the Agreement in a manner that is consistent with the standards of medical practice in the community
8. Performing such clinical procedures as are consistent with Physician’s prior practice patterns and trainings
9. When and if needed, performing or supervising various invasive medical procedures that includes, but are not limited to, the injection of medications, inoculations, and vaccinations
10. Keeping and maintaining appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered
11. Preparing and attending to all reports, claims, and correspondence necessary and appropriate to the performance of the professional services and ensuring that records and documentation are in compliance with Federal and State regulations
12. Timely reporting births, deaths, outbreak of contagious diseases and other information required to appropriate governmental authorities and as required for Sendas’ reporting
14. Being able to perform his/her professional services during Sendas Urgent Care’s office hours for the number of hours specified
15. Following all policies and procedures of Sendas Urgent Care including Code ofConduct and Corporate Compliance Program.
EDUCATION: Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practictioner Degree
EXPERIENCE: 2 years preferred, Worker’s Comp Experience preferred
REQUIRMENTS: Active California Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License
Current DEA
Current ACLS
KNOWLEDGE: The jobholder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position.
1. Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.2. Current ACLS3. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
4. Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.5. Knowledge of management and organizational theory to supervise the business practices including principles of employee development to train, delegate and mentor staff.
SKILLS:
1. Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques.
2. Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace and confidentiality methods.
3. Skill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment. Occasionally lifting and carrying files or assisting patients. May require working under stressful conditions.
