OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as a Physician Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care across diverse medical settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, utilizing your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and manage patient conditions. There are three office locations, 1. Downtown flushing , Tuesday, Wednesday , Friday 10-6, 2. Chinatown office , Monday and Thursday , 9-5 . 3. Grand central , 1-2 days a month.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews. In a neurological clinical with onset physical therapy and acupuncture.
- Assist in diagnosing acute and chronic conditions through diagnostic evaluation and data collection.
- Administer injections, perform suturing, procedures using aseptic technique.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems , advancedMD for documentation and data management.
- Participate in clinical research and clinical trials to enhance evidence-based practices..
- Provide health coaching and patient education on topics like family planning, addiction counseling, nutrition, and post-acute care planning.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records following NCQA standards.
- Assist with procedures such as joint injection
Qualifications
- Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Proficiency in EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience administering injections and performing physical examinations with aseptic technique.
- Ability to perform suturing and other minor procedures confidently within outpatient setting.
- Excellent patient assessment skills coupled with compassionate communication abilities.
- Experience working within hospital medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care, or primary care environments preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance; basic life support certification required.
