Momentous Institute is seeking an experienced, PA-C or Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team. Founded in 1920, Momentous Institute is committed to offering mental health and education services that are systemic, trauma-informed, and include body and strength-based perspectives. Role: The PA-C/PMHNP is a licensed practitioner who provides out-patient psychiatric health services to children and adult caregivers through evaluation, follow-up examinations, diagnostic assessments, and monitoring medications under the direction of a licensed psychiatric physician (Collaborating physician will be provided by Momentous Institute).
We are seeking a mission-driven professional invested in working closely with therapists and psychologists as part of an integrated care treatment team. This is a Monday-Friday, outpatient setting with no requirements for on-call or after-hours response. Additionally, we are not billing insurance, therefore there is freedom to spend the time necessary to listen to clients, understand their needs and collaborate with other providers to ensure clients receive the highest quality care. New patient appointments are 90 minutes; follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.
Professional Responsibilities:
· Perform a broad range of mental health services including, but not limited to the following:
· Provide direct patient care for diagnostic evaluations, medical assessments and medication management.
· Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient health care needs.
· Provide patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits and reasonable outcome expectations.
· Provide patient centered clinical care in an in person & telemedicine setting
· Document encounters appropriately in EMR system
· Maintain confidentiality of patient information, following strict security and HIPAA regulations
· Ability to work effectively with other team members including
o Clinical Staff
o Education staff
o Organizational Leadership
o Administrative Assistants
o Board of Directors
o Physician
· Collaborate with other treating therapists to develop aligned treatment approaches
· Participate in treatment team meetings
· Communicate effectively with treating therapists, patients and patient family members
Professional Qualifications:
· Current Texas licensure, Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Certified in Psychiatric & Mental Health (PMHNP)
· Active, Federal DEA certificate/number
· Knowledge to work with both children and adults
· Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
· Knowledge of current clinical practices and standards
· Knowledge of trauma-informed care
· Highly motivated and organized Able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks
· Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems
· Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA rules and regulations.
· Ability to exercise high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making.
· Exceptional leadership and development skills
