Job Description

University of Maryland Saint Joseph Medical Center (UMSJMC), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System and located in Towson, Maryland, has an excellent, PRN opportunity available for a Critical Care Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team.

Job Specifics:

• Seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented NP/PA to work with a team of Pulmonary and Critical Care Providers.
• Applicants must have the ability to diagnose patients and implement a plan of care for acute and chronic health conditions in the intensive care unit.
• Closed Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• 16 bed MSICU, 6 bed Intermediate Care Unit
• Rotating schedule, including weekends, holidays, nights as required to meet 24/7 patient care needs.
• CMS 5 Star, LeapFrog Grade “A” Hospital
• #1 Community Hospital in Maryland, US News and World Report

Qualifications

Education

• 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
• Master’s Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

• BLS Certification (Required)
• ACLS Certification (Required)
• Registration from Maryland State Board of Physician or Maryland State Board of Nursing (Required)

Experience and Skills

• 0 – 1 year Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Required)
• 2 – 4 years Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)

Required Skills: Strong critical care patient management experience strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
