Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, including vital signs, anatomy knowledge assessments, and patient history intake to establish accurate diagnoses.
- Manage patient care across multiple specialties such as internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and critical care environments including ICU and Level I/II trauma centers.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; document findings meticulously in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Administer injections and medications safely while demonstrating aseptic technique; manage airway interventions and ventilator support as needed.
- Coordinate acute pain management strategies, including the use of botulinum toxin treatments where applicable; participate in pain management and palliative care plans.
- Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), spinal taps, phlebotomy, dialysis access management, and radiation therapy support.
- Engage in clinical research and clinical trials to contribute to evidence-based practice improvements; collect data for quality assurance and research purposes.
- Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings by assessing patient acuity levels and prioritizing care delivery efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, hospice & palliative medicine services, and home care initiatives.
- Utilize CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate billing documentation; manage medical coding tasks diligently.
- Participate in health coaching programs focusing on nutrition, addiction counseling, public health initiatives, and occupational health strategies.
- Maintain proficiency in medical imaging interpretation when applicable; support infection control protocols and radiation safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience administering injections and performing physical examinations within hospital or outpatient settings.
- Demonstrated competence with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience managing electronic health records efficiently.
- Critical care experience in ICU or emergency room environments is highly preferred; familiarity with ventilator management and airway techniques essential.
- Prior involvement in clinical research or clinical trials enhances candidacy; experience with data collection and management is advantageous.
- Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or similar high-acuity settings strongly desired.
- Knowledge of CPT coding procedures along with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for billing purposes required.
- Background in hospital medicine or medical-surgical units is beneficial; familiarity with telehealth platforms adds value.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge, diagnostic evaluation skills, and basic life support certification are mandatory.
