I. GENERAL SUMMARY:
Regional Orthopaedic Associates is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Spine team in Wilmington, Delaware. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a leading orthopedic spine surgeon, providing both surgical and outpatient care to a diverse patient population.
This is a position with OR responsibilities two to three days per week at partnering hospitals and surgery center, offering a rare and rewarding balance of hands-on procedural work and clinical autonomy.

II. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as a clinical extension of the attending physician in both outpatient and surgical settings.
- Assist in the operating room for spine procedures
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams, detailed histories, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Formulate diagnoses and develop treatment and management plans in coordination with the supervising physician.
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests (X-rays, MRI, CT scans, labs, etc.).
- Educate patients on their diagnosis, surgical procedures, post-op care, and long-term spine health.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and follow all HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
- Stay current on best practices, guidelines, and innovations in orthopedic and spine care.
- Maintain flexibility in schedule as needed
- Provide hospital call and inpatient rounding for the attending physician’s primary patients. There is no formal spine or orthopedic call requirement
III. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism and initiative.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Proficiency with EMR systems and office technology.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
B. Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited PA program (Master’s preferred).
- Current and unrestricted Delaware State Physician Assistant License.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
C. Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience as a PA in orthopedics, spine surgery, or a related specialty preferred.
- Experience in both clinical and surgical settings is a plus.
