About the Opportunity
A busy and growing otolaryngology (ENT) practice, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside an experienced ENT physician and skilled clinical staff.
Position Summary
The NP/PA will provide comprehensive patient care in both clinical and procedural settings. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing patients with ear, nose, and throat conditions, assisting with in-office procedures, and supporting the practice in delivering high-quality specialty care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and eager to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced specialty clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
 - Diagnose and manage acute and chronic ENT-related conditions.
 - Assist in minor in-office procedures, postoperative care, and patient follow-ups.
 - Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
 - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing or dispensing medications in accordance with state law.
 - Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
 - Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
 - Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
 - Participate in ongoing quality improvement, peer review, and continuing education activities.
 
Qualifications
Required:
- Current and unrestricted Alabama license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
 - National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
 - Current CPR certification.
 
Preferred:
- Experience in ENT, allergy, or related specialty.
 - Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
 - Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care.
 
Education & Experience
For Physician Assistants:
- Bachelor’s degree and completion of an accredited PA program.
 - National certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
 - Minimum 1 year of experience as a PA, preferably in a clinic or specialty practice.
 
For Nurse Practitioners:
- BSN required; MSN preferred.
 - Completion of an approved nurse practitioner program with national certification.
 - Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience and at least 1 year as a practicing NP.
 
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced clinical knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, and diagnostic techniques.
 - Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation.
 - Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational abilities.
 - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
