Location: 5140 Dunstan Road Greensboro, NC 27405Department: MedicalEmployment Type: Full-Time

Schedule & Availability:

· Regular Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

· On-Call Rotation: 1–2 weekday on-call shifts per week, during which you must be reachable by cell phone.

· Weekend Coverage: One weekend on-call shift per month, which typically requires reporting on both Saturday and Sunday.

Position Summary:

The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide high-quality healthcare services under the supervision of a licensed physician. This includes conducting comprehensive histories and physicals, providing medical and psychiatric evaluations, initiating treatment plans, and counseling patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The PA/NP plays a key role in coordinating patient care, ensuring clinical excellence, and maintaining high standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories; record data in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and document pertinent findings in the EMR.
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and provide follow-up care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Complete hospital admissions and discharges at the direction of the supervising physician.
  • Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine appropriate management and treatment plans.
  • Formulate medical diagnoses and initiate therapy, referrals, or coordination with other healthcare facilities, agencies, and community resources.
  • Initiate emergency measures or stabilization related to alcohol or opiate withdrawal, delirium tremens, seizures, or other acute medical emergencies.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current and valid state licensure as a PA or NP.
  • DEA license (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Psychiatric and/or inpatient care experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with patients with substance use disorders and psychiatric conditions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong crisis management and problem-solving skills.

Job Specific Behaviors

  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Participates in performance improvement activities and subcommittees. Participate in staff development by continued training to improve job skills.
