Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute is a single specialty orthopedic hospital. We are physician owned with a 4 bed Urgent Care, x-ray, and MRI on site. Our hospital has been serving the Kansas City area for 25 years.
We have an immediate need for a Physician Assistant (part-time, 24 hours per week). Our Urgent Care offers our staff work-life balance, flexible self-scheduling, no holidays, and no call. Urgent Care is a large part of the daily operations at the Hospital. Urgent Care is open Mondays-Fridays, 8:00am-7:00pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am-4:00pm. We have a dynamic and unique working environment with a 100% orthopedic case load.

JOB FUNCTION
The Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the supervising physician, is responsible for delivering a broad range of health care, with an emphasis in orthopedic care.
This position will specialize in acute, subacute and chronic Orthopedic injuries to both the soft tissues, joints and bones.
The Physician Assistant will perform medical histories, conduct physical exams, order diagnostic tests, administer treatments, prescribe medications, counsel, and educate patients. The PA-C, under the direction of the supervising physician, will assist in surgery as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education & experience
- Prior orthopedic surgery experience required
- Current Physician Assistant license in Kansas
- BLS required
- Knowledge of Orthopaedic practice and care
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures
- Knowledge of Orthopedic equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinic
- Ability to identify and resolve problems while using good reasoning and judgment

- 2 year(s): Prior orthopedic experience
- Current Physician Assistant license in KS
