Full Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our democratic Emergency Physicians group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, ideally with experience in emergency medicine and competency in a variety of acute care procedures. This role involves working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality medical care to patients across diverse populations.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs monitoring.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and develop treatment plans based on clinical findings.
  • Ordering medications, injections, and IV infusions as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage acute pain and provide hospice & palliative medicine support when required.
  • Participate in triage processes and assist in emergency situations within the emergency room or critical care settings.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including discharge planning and follow-up.
  • Educate patients on health management, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications as part of health coaching initiatives.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in medical practices including ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and infection control measures.

SkillsCandidates should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:

  • Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner) and medical coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
  • Experience in critical care settings.
  • Knowledge of acute care practices, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and epistaxis management.
  • Familiarity with various specialties such as geriatrics, pediatrics, infectious disease care, and occupational health.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and aseptic techniques.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $81,237.00 – $116,053.00 per year
