Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Location: Northern Kentucky
Contract: 1099 Full Time Locum
Royal Surgical Associates is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join a highly respected cardiothoracic surgery team in Northern Kentucky. This OR-only role is ideal for an advanced practice provider who thrives in a collaborative surgical environment, values precision and quality, and is looking to contribute to a high-volume, well-established program.
Job Highlights:
- OR-Only cardiothoracic surgery role – no rounding
- 40 hours per week with weekend call only
- Join a team of five surgeons to help drive growth in surgical volume
- Approximately 400 hearts per year

Contract Details:

- Weekday schedule with weekend call rotation

Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive pay up to $150/hour, commensurate with experience
- 1099 contract structure for increased take-home pay
- All travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
- Streamlined credentialing and onboarding process
Key Responsibilities:
- First-assist in high-volume cardiothoracic cases
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), CABG, Valve, Redo, and some Aortic procedures
- Assist in training newer hires on vein harvest techniques
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery or CVICU; 5+ years preferred
- Strong first-assist skills and proficiency with EVH
- NCCPA certification or ACNP with active licensure
