OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with a focus on wound management and healing. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with various wound types, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in improving patient outcomes and promoting best practices in wound care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with wounds to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and best practices in wound management.
- Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and other necessary procedures to promote healing.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize healing outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and overall health management.
- Maintain accurate medical records documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including referrals to specialists when needed.
- Stay current with advancements in wound care practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology related to wound care and general healthcare practices.
- Experience in medical records management to ensure accurate documentation of patient information.
- Knowledge of pain management techniques to effectively address patient discomfort during treatment.
- Familiarity with behavioral health considerations that may impact patient recovery and compliance.
- Ability to provide primary care services alongside specialized wound care as needed.
- Competence in phlebotomy for obtaining necessary lab samples when required for diagnosis or treatment monitoring.
- Understanding of sterile processing techniques to maintain a safe environment for wound care procedures.
- Experience or training in infant care may be beneficial for practitioners working with pediatric populations.

Pay: $125,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
