Physician Assistant-Urgent Care (Permanent Role)

Location: Fort Worth, TX, 76104 Shift: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM Guaranteed Hours: 24 per week Compensation: Based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and obtain detailed medical histories.
  • Order, collect, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to evaluate patient conditions and needs.
  • Prescribe or recommend appropriate therapeutic treatments, including medications and procedures, based on clinical guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and care teams.
  • Evaluate patients’ response to treatment and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding conditions, treatment options, medications, and wellness strategies.
  • Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Consult and refer patients when conditions exceed the scope of the PA’s practice.
  • Perform invasive procedures within scope and as delegated by supervising physicians.
  • Participate in shift coverage based on departmental needs.

  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, medical diagnoses, treatment alternatives, and healthcare protocols.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic evaluation and patient management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Effective critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Competence in EMR systems and healthcare software.
  • Ability to formulate and carry out outcome-based treatment plans.
  • Skilled in patient education and behavioral counseling.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical or urgent care setting.
  • Certification/Licensure:
    • Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
    • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
