Advantage Surgical and Wound Care has an exciting opportunity for a Full or Part-Time Ophthalmic Physician Assistant (PA) (1-4 days/week) to work in the Southern California area. Qualified candidates will round at multiple facilities that are located within a designated territory. We are currently seeking Physician Assistants (PA) to join our progressive ophthalmology practice.

Our experienced Ophthalmic Physician Assistants perform rounds in Skilled Nursing Facilities, providing ophthalmic services to residents of post-acute rehab settings, nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and long-term acute care hospitals.

Qualifications:

  • Active state professional license
  • Valid driver’s license

Duties:

  • Weekday commitment: No call, evenings, or weekends
  • Deliver ophthalmic services in the post-acute care setting
  • Round daily at multiple facilities

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ophthalmology exams and treatments in accordance with permissible scope of practice in an on-site setting in coordination with an on-staff collaborating Ophthalmologist.
  • Order necessary medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to ensure an effective eye care plan.
  • Educate nursing staff, and maintain open communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams as required.
  • Provide quality patient care to the Geriatric patient population.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting required for extended periods of time
